Meet the new BlackBerry jack

Sounds like it could be our new mascot – BlackBerry Jack. That’s ridiculous. But while gawking at Boy Genius’ 8300 shots, I took a little notice of the headphone jack and saw that it looked bigger than that on the 8800 and 8100 – the 2.5 mm jacks that don’t fit regular headphone inputs. Well, guess what?

I was right, and the jerk beat me to the punch (Oh, you know I don’t think you’re a jerk – relax). With the 8300, you can plug normal-sized headphones or headsets into the device. There’s some good news to wind down the week. Now where’s the green beer?

    I personally would love my pearl to be a nice silvery grey glossy shell. I would love to have a small metal (titanium) pipe the same size as the 8800 ear speaker in the design of the front top and bottom as well as the back top and bottom. Basically same concept as those grills people put on their headlights like those land rovers. They shouldn’t cover the screen though or get in the way of typing… but should be there so i can slide my blackberry on my desk and not have to worry about scratching the screen.

    it would make the design a bit more rugged and would eliminate the need to use sub-par plastic and rubberized cases from companies who charge double of what they should.

    Thats a nice feature. Alot of the 2.5mm headphones plugs have issues with bending because they’re so thin.

    Yeah it’s not earth shattering, but it just goes to show you that RIM is going towards more the consumer end of things. If RIM is serious about all the multimedia stuff they are promoting then this is a step forward, a small one but atleast a step forward.
