I’ll gladly run down there and check it out if anyone wants. The real facts are as follows: BTC, the Bahamas Telecommunications Company, has announced that GPRS roaming is now in check in their neck of the woods for BlackBerry devices. A lot of us are already privy to the benefits that roaming allows, and it’s nice that the public down in that warm, warm temperature don’t have to be inconvenienced anymore.
What am I talking about? Take away my roaming and get me out of the snow – I’d take sand between my toes over no roaming any day.
Mr. Marlon Johnson, BTC’s VP of Marketing & Sales, explained, “An increasing number of mobile professionals are recognizing the productivity benefits of BlackBerry. We are very pleased that BTC is broadening our BlackBerry offering not only with the introduction of GPRS Roaming, but I’m happy to announce the upcoming launch of GSM and Blackberry on a number of our Family islands including Inagua, The Berry Islands, Rum Cay and Long Island.”
All BTC customers who roam with a BlackBerry® device will now be able to do much more than just receiving and placing voice calls on select mobile networks around the world. Through GPRS technology BlackBerry® users will as they travel around the world, be able to utilize services like wireless email, instant messaging and internet web browsing.
BlackBerry continues to grow in popularity around the world as demonstrated by BTC’s expansion plans and new roaming agreements. BlackBerry provides both residents and visitors in The Bahamas with always-on, integrated, wireless access to email and data,” said Mr. Johnson.
