From JC: “Will 4.2 software be released for the 8700 series? When will verizon be carrying the 8800 or the 8300?”
It’s pretty much up to the carriers at this point, RIM has definitely made the OS available to them and it’s on them now. If Cingular feels that releasing 4.2 for the 8700 will take away from 8800 sales, then they probably won’t do it. Everything I’ve heard is the May/June timeframe for Verizon, or at least CDMA. I have seen a sprint 8800, so they do exist.
Ok, and from Keith – “How does one become a beta tester for RIM and get to try out new devices before they are released…”
Ha. I’d like to know, too, buddy.

I want to give you a chance to answer to the folks who’ve been bashing you as of late – what do you have to say?
I have great sources, people I have now known for years. And as far as I know, every single person I have ever gotten information from still has their job. That’s a risk people take, and they take it all the time. Using me as a target is fine, I don’t mind.
No. Because you seem to have a better filter. Other sites seems to post anything that’ll excite their readers.
That’s not true really. Other sites, like Engadget, weed through a ton of things, they make an editorial decision based upon the tips/scoop. But WHY ARE YOU SENDING IT IN ANYWAY? That’s the question. If you send something in, and say, “here look at this”, the first thing I say is: “is this ok to post?” then, “Are you positive?”. If they say “yes”, I’m posting it.
I am very crystal clear with anyone who sends me info directly and they know that, know the site, and knows what happens. I can’t be in control of their situations, just my own. I have never given up one source. Not a single one. Goes back to trust, and building long term relationships
So bash me. Start ihateboygenius.com If you have a problem with me, don’t look at the site. But there are millions, yes, millions of people that love the information and avenue I use to provide it.
