Weekly Contest: What would you do for your BlackBerry?

We know, we know: we let you down. One of the biggest days for BlackBerry news in at least the past 6 months, and BlackBerry Cool was down the whole time, leaving you stranded and without your needed fix of daily BlackBerry information. That’s what happens when everyone and their boss’ dog hits our site all at once. We promise, it won’t happen again.

Which is probably something most of you are wishing RIM would say right about now regarding their BlackBerry service. The BBCool team likes to prepare for the worst, however, so we’re wondering what lengths our dedicated readership would go to get their BlackBerry service up and running if it ever goes down again. Would you sell your soul? Dress up like a BlackBerry? Get “My other BB is full-QWERTY” tattooed on your chest?     I would vote for a Democrat, Dennis Kucinich even.

    i would sell my girlfriend to get blackberry service again. not even just dump her, sell her for money to give to RIM. the best part about this is that i tell her that all the time and she actually feels inferior to my blackberry saying “you love that thing more than you love me.” I always respond with, “well hey, if you’re jealous, one of you can leave… and I’m pretty sure Pearl isn’t going anywhere”

    I actually did dress up a 7100 acouple of times. For release of one of our new stores we had someone ditch out on us for the event so i stepped up and put on the suretype costume.

    I would really do anything for a blackberry though. Sell my kidney on the black (berry) market or even better yet take someone else’s kidney. Do you really need 2 kidneys to use a qwerty keyboard? nah.

    The most extreme thing I would do is become a organ donor but and stipulate that they can take all my organs and fingers for people in need; as long as they leave me 2 thumbs to type with becuase I will need them when i get buried with my new 8800.

    …Only to discover there was no network coverage at the top.

    I would lock myself in an isolation chamber for 2 weeks!
    …Only to find my battery was dead (and service was restored 13 days earlier).

    I would travel to the northest point in the north poll!
    …Wait, there is no network coverage there either.

    I would go over Niagara Falls in a creaky barrel!
    …And find my BlackBerry water logged.

    And then after all that I’ll just MacGyver my BlackBerry so it works again :)
