I really like the fact that this one sounds like a return to the bulletproof berries of yore. I want a Berry that'll weather as many drops to the floor as my 6750 and 7250 took. I'm also glad that they're releasing a full-bluetooth phone. Though the corporate guys will worry about security, I'm glad to have it as a consumer.

The MP3 and camera functions are fluff that I have little use for and no interest in paying for.

I'll probably wait for an EVDO-flavoured version to drop, and even then, I'll likely wait for a reasonable price.

Will I run out and buy the Curve? Not the first release that comes out, but yes. This is the phone that I have been looking for.
I've been looking to upgrade to a Blackberry for over a year, which I'll be for both business and personal use. First I waited for the Pearl, but really wanted a QWERTY keyboard. News of the 83xx made me skip the 8800 in hopes that a device with all the features I was looking for would be launched shortly.

At last the Curve is introduced. It looked like the device I was waiting for was finally going to be available. But the lack of WiFi really makes me think twice about whether or not I should purchase it.

If the Curve had Wifi I'd buy it immediately. But I have an issue with paying the Rogers dataplan rates for something as simple as surfing the Internet. I already pay Rogers for cell use and email, shouldn't I have the option of connecting to the Internet using freely available connections? Why should I be forced to pay extra, especially at the absurd rates charged by Rogers?

They (Rogers) have other devices with the WiFi feature (HP ipaq), so why aren't they pushing RIM to include this feature on their devices?

For now I'm still undecided. But the Curve does look very tempting!

OK, so I'm a techno geek! I've had a BlackBerry riding my hip for over seven years, and been using PDA's even longer.

I'm on my SEVENTH BlackBerry (8800) which replaced my 8700. I didn't think I'd like it more than the 8700, but now that I've lived with it I love it!

I didn't think being able to use it as an MP3 player would be that big a deal, but have rediscovered music - a pleasant surprise.

One thing I'm not in love with on the 8800 is the keyboard, and I'm happy to see they moved back to a keyboard more like the 8700's which I loved.

So I'm thinking I really want to upgrade to the 8300 - mostly for the keyboard, but also because I'm curious to see how much I'd use a camera which I THINK I have no need for - like I thought I had no need for music!

I live by my BlackBerry 8700c, and love it. However, as a Real Estate Agent, I regularly need to take pictures of places I'm going to list, so I've needed to carry camera.

I looked at the Pearl, but had no patience for the keyboard which was just too small for my liking, and I wanted just a bit higher resolution on the camera anyway.

I like my husband's 8800, but just being able to use it instead of an iPod didn't warrant the upgrade. I NEED a camera. I like having my iPod, but can leave it behind if needed.

The Curve looks like the answer to my needs. Full keyboard, and a higher resolution camera. AND I can use it instead of my iPod too! I can't wait for it to be released. My purse will certainly appreciate it!

For some reason the 8300 doesn't make me feel ready to ditch my pearl. I've already gotten accustomed to work arounds using the pearl's media player. And I like a camera but for a cell phone to me the pearl camera is sufficient. QWERTY? I went from a 7100 to a 8700 to now a pearl. In my opinion the QWERTY keys are to small for thumb typing (for me), so that's not a draw. I mean sad to say the 8300 so far is a pearl with mininmal upgrades. Again RIM IMHO has fallen a little short that is unless there is a 8300 coming with GPS and WIFI. That would get my attention.

I've been waiting for a full Qwerty BlackBerry to come out with a camera. I think it is also a way to finally consider ditching the iPod with improved mp3 support and the 3.5mm jack. While I toyed around with the iPhone, I can't live without buttons. I can't stand touchscreens.
I've had my 8700 for about a year now and the only thing that would prevent me from purchasing the Curve is the price. I won't be getting any subsidy from at&t, so hopefully it won't be too expensive. If it's anywhere above $300, then it looks like I'll stick with my 8700 and wait for the 99xx.

YES! After upgrading from the 8700 to the 8800 for the features (I won't lie the mp3 and video player). I felt like I moved to the SmartType style. I'm constantly hitting the wrong keys. This looks more like the 8700, having some space between the keys.

The camera should be sweet too!
