WES has officially begun, and our very own Doug Soltys provided live coverage with thumbs of fury pounding away on his Pearl. Photos and play-by-play behind the jump.
Hey guys, events starting late, wifi’s not working - sounds like WES 2007. Right now they’re running a promo video about WES narrated by Balsille; pretty standard fare so far.

They just introduced Crawford Del Prete from IDC, who is basically spending 10 minutes hyping the show. Hey, he just pulled out the 950! Talking about where RIM came from and where it’s headed to: the Pearl, consumer focus, the breakdown of the walled garden, a focus on user-generated networks.
He’s indicating that mobile apps will be the future of revenue for mobile.
Now he’s talking about expanding the value of voice - boy is that a tough sell! He’s challenging developers to bring the functionality of the desktop phone into the mobile world.

You meant the RED PEARL, right?
Sharp eye. Guess he DOES need full QWERTY.
