Blackout prompts improved buffer zone

BalsillieIn a talk with eWeek, Jim Balsillie openly admitted that the blackout was avoidable and that measures have been taken to improve system stability. While some may have seen the incident as the single blow which ruins RIM’s credibility, it makes more sense that a minor glitch can significantly increase their server-side diligence – contrarily increasing RIM’s reliability. Balsillie goes on to talk about all of the new failsafes that have since been set up over the last couple of weeks, so when minor problems happen in the future, they won’t affect service. BlackBerry has a lot of people to please, so it makes good sense that “there is no constraint on budget or resources for this work”.
