Verizon opens up 8830 sales to business customers

Comments

It looks like Verizon’s first to the party, now carrying the 8830, and the lines are open for business customers. Rumour has it that May 28th. is going to be the release date for the rest of us plebs. You can only order by phone right now, and it sounds like you can get one even if you’re not a business customer, so if you’re in a rush to get one of these from Verizon, give it a shot at 1-800-899-4249.

I’m confused by the comment “no clue why you would be.” Are you implying the device isn’t up to snuff?

Sorry, editorial confusion… mixed up the linked announcement of a release as a release proper. As a result, thought Verizon was late in carrying the 8830 (with therefore plenty of alternative carriers and no rush to get Verizon’s), when they’re actually the first to have the World Edition, and so being excited to get it would make perfectly good sense. Thanks for calling me on that.

Ordered mine monday, got it this morning… to clear up a common question, it does indeed have GPS, you just have to change the advanced setting from 911-only to location-based.
