Friday North American release for Curve?

Comments

BGR’s hinting that the Curve’s coming out from AT&T this Friday, the 25th., before their launch party on June 8th. Just a wee bit behind France, England and Germany, but that hardly stems the excitement around BBCool HQ. Woo, Curve!

I’ve been using the Curve for several weeks and it’s a very nice device. I’ve used almost every portable device from RIM — before the BlackBerry existed.

I think the Curve will be a big seller, but there are a few problems (if you consider them that). Firstly, the keyboard is smaller than the 8700 and the 72xx series. If you have fat fingers — or even if you don’t — it is more difficult to use the Curve keyboard.

I’ve gotten used to the Curve keyboard, but the 8700 is better — although the keys are less slippery on the Curve

I write about that in my first impressions of the Curve in my camera phone weblog:

Secondly, the photo quality isn’t what it should be. The photos are often better than the Pearl’s — with more vibrant color — BUT they are too yellow. There is a problem with the white balance.

The Pearl’s colors are duller and bluer, but sometimes more realistic.

I have posted an analysis as well as more than 70 photos — half from the Pearl and half from the Curve, taken within seconds of each other.

If you’re interested in the Curve’s image quality, you might want to read this…
