[...] While WCDMA might not be rocking the kasbah right now, it might get a kick in the pants with a little help from Sagem, who just struck a royalty-based deal with Qualcomm to develop WCDMA hardware. This falls well in line with recent incentives Qualcomm has put forward to develop WCDMA in Europe. If the Nokia fight is slowing down 3G progress, at least Qualcomm’s got some alternative direction. [...]

wcdma is falling flat due to qualcomm. cdma networks are falling flat and being upgraded to GSM, why? because of qualcomm.

Service providers, manufactures and consumers in the know, know better than to chose proprietary, non-standard technologies from arrogant, greedy, lawsuit happy, patent-holding company named qualcomm. Consumer based communication going forward needs to be like GSM is today; open, non-proprietary, and a global standard.

cdma, wcdma anything qualcomm is not the right way forward in consumer communication networks.
