This is totally true. Hardware is important in terms of enabling the potential of great apps. Apps will make or break phones from now on, and we’re only at the tip of the iceberg.

As a matter of fact I have a blog(http://blackberrygtd.com/) that only deals with software mainly gtd type of software, so yea without software our phones would be simple hardware pieces, granted some do more than others out of the box but nevertheless, that’s what software is for, to make our phone experiences a lot easier.

I agree 100%, software makes the smartphone, here are some examples, TodoMatrix, Next-Action, IdeaMatrix, Berry411 to name a few and soon Pocket Informant for Blackberry, what a great addition !!
