Service slowdown yesterday

View Comments

AngerThere were reports yesterday of yet another BlackBerry-wide outage, ranging from a 15 minute delay in message delivery to the better part of a day. BIS and most e-mail was affected, but .blackberry.net addresses were still running smoothly. At this point, folks are getting pretty frustrated with intermittent BlackBerry service, especially when companies depend on it to keep business moving. Unless RIM can get a handle on expanding to accommodate rising traffic, or properly testing their software updates before installing them, or whatever the problem is at their end, people will start switching devices. Is anyone still having problems?

I kept up with the outage via the BB-Outage Mail list at http://www.c2security.org/mailman/listinfo/bb-o...

It's a must have for those that want to stay up to date on what's going on with outages.

I was pissed off last night because I read about the outage during the afternoon, but I didn't realize it had affected me since I had sent out an email and received several before noon. Yesterday my 8320 arrived and so I posted my 8700 for sale on craigslist around 11:00am and got no responses all day(I figured no one wanted a used 8700g). Around 8pm that night I get a flood of yahoo email responses and missed out on selling it yesterday. 2 of the "ready to buy now" at my asking price got passed by since I was too late on responding.

    Thanks, RIM!
  • My .blackberry.net address was affected by this slowdown; it's the only address I use on my account, and things were delayed by up to an hour.

YES!! Also, the slow down seemed to start several days ago. It got worse yesterday. I received an email yesterday (the 25th at noon) that was sent the 24th at about the same time. No update from T-Mo on the status.
