Not to be outdone by Telus, Bell has gone and announced the GPS-packing BlackBerry 8130 in navy blue for $149.95 on a three-year plan. Facebook and Windows Live Messenger are coming preloaded on the device, alongside some new data plans for BIS customers: $15 for 1.5 MB of traffic, $20 for 2 MB, and $35 for 4 MB.

Ouch on the data plans. People are mad at Verizon for soft capping them at 5GB for $29.99.
Yup. Welcome to Canada. Where our mobile operators think wireless data refers only to email and should be measured in increments of 1 megabyte.
You Americans are so crazy with your “expensive” price plans and your “gigabytes”…
its actually 6GB for $35.
And that includes call display, voicemail and 100 text msgs!
8130 and 8120 the only difference is GPS, right?
Please keep in mind that the $40/4MB BlackBerry data option also includes voicemail, call display and 100 SMS text messages (with unlimited incoming SMS text messages).
For clients that do not need the additional value-added features (voicemail, call display and SMS) Bell still offers a $40/8MB BlackBerry data feature.
That’s still extremely expensive, here in Aus we thought that Telstra was going mad by charging $29.95 for 200MB – and of course no charge for any incoming calls or sms.
I’d start a riot with those prices
I just picked up a new Curve 8330 through Bell. I’m on the $25/4MB data plan for now; I’m assuming incoming SMS are still unlimited and free, right?
