Telus fires back at Rogers with their own cheap plan

Telus 8130 Sure, Rogers might be pulling out the $15/month plan, but apparently Telus is stepping up with nearly the same deal. Just like the new Rogers plan, you get unlimited BIS e-mail and BB Messenger usage on their Pearl for $15/month. Telus one-ups Big Red, however, with unlimited web browsing too, so not only does Telus have a better plan than Rogers, but they also have the shiny new BlackBerry 8130 to waggle in front of customers. The website isn’t showing the web browsing offer just yet, but we’ll check our local Telus store today to see what the dilly-o is. I think it’s pretty clear who’s going to be rocking the holiday season up north this year.

UPDATE: Yep, the new plan includes web browsing and is available until the end of December. The rep also said that the price had been knocked down $129.99 from their previous $199.99.

Finally the best carrier is going after those other two.Now maybe we will get realistic prices people can afford and not the most expensive in the world. Just think what this will do for the sale of data devices not to mention the Home of the BlackBerry EH!!

Yup Andy it tru, I picked one up the day before yesterday and spoke to the rep and called customer service twice to make sure of it. I used to have the 7100i on Mike and left Mike to come to PCS just to get the deal on the phone and on the plan…man i remember when i use to pay $60 for the unlimited dat plan, this is a deal and a half!

Thanks for the feedback. I signed my wife up for 3 years on a 8130. I had to go to a Telus outlet to do the deal as it was not available online.

This is a great deal, finally Canadians are starting to pay what most of the rest of the world is.

Does this mean that GPS is unlimted as well? I was told by bell that GPS uses a lot of data.

The Pearl is FREE with telus if you sign a 3 year contract and switch to a email/web plan or add the $15 email/web thing to your existing plan. What a deal. I got mine today =)
