Palm has created a new set of advertisements that poke fun at the recent outages for BlackBerry users, reports PDA Blast. The new ads, which appear on Palm’s home page and in full-page spreads in many newspapers, say: “Palm smartphones include voice, e-mail, text, Web, calendar and contacts. And most importantly, uptime. Connect to your Microsoft Exchange Server. No third-party servers and no nationwide blackouts.” Kind of a cheap shot if you ask me. I wonder if RIM will fight back?

RIM could do it with the scathing wit of their improv team.
AS A PALM USER, THEY SHOULD NOT BE MAKING FUN OF RIM. PALM PRODUCTS ARE HORRIBLE. I’M ON TREO #3 AND AS SOON AS THE CURVE COMES OUT FOR VERIZON, I’M DUMPING THE TREO. IT FREEZES SO MUCH I HAD TO DRILL A HOLE IN MY BATTERY COVER SO I COULD EASILY ACCESS THE RESET BUTTON W/O HAVING TO TAKE THE PHONE APART.
Looks like Palm has been getting marketing lessons from Apple. sad……
My vote is RIM fight back with reduced downtime–this isn’t the first large scale BlackBerry outage. Palm is hardly competition–but Microsoft and others who are ramping up remote administration capabilities similar to BlackBerry.
My Palm 755p is rock steady. I’ve heard the w version(Windows) isn’t. Then again, that’s no real surprise, is it?
