I ran sound for a local band, and Russell always used to try and get my goat by saying that I "had a pussy ear" (Russell liked BIIIG BASS!) He could always be found backstage talking and joking with the musicians and their entourages. Russell was a kind and gentle soul, who went on to become one of the elder statesman of Tech Revolution jouralism. After having discovered Russell's Blackberry Beat blog several months ago, I emailed him and we were able to catch up on the past 25 years of our respective lives. I feel very fortunate to have had that opportunity and to have known such a grand fellow. Russell, you will be missed, but not forgotten....
