Weekly Contest: Bon Voyage

Last week we talked a bit about going where no BlackBerrys had gone before, mostly to hilariously dangerous consequences. Of course, not all the places you’ve taken your BlackBerry are threats to its structural integrity - maybe you’ve shot out a few e-mails from the Sahara, or taken a call from Mount Everest (I hear the reception’s pretty good), or grabbed a few snaps in the Arctic with your Curve. Wherever you’ve been, let’s hear the most exotic place you’ve used your BlackBerry. The winner will get 6 months of Gold service from WorldMate Live to set them up on their next trip.

Great stories last week, guys! Between the bean dip, the 18-wheeler, and the skateboarding incident, there were some pretty great stories there. As cock-sure Alex might be of himself, he’s right - a BlackBerry spending a month under a canal is pretty gnarly, and the picture really drives it home. We’ll get you your OtterBox Alex, just remember that they aren’t airtight. ;) Thanks for your stories everyone - we hope to hear a few more good ones this week!

I used my Blackberry on a cruise which bypassed Cuba on to Cozumel. Even though we were off the coast of Cuba the BB worked quite well!! Same thing in Cozumel…worked very well! Is that exotic enough?

Yo! I work at a scrapyard in Cleveland, Ohio and whenever I get poor reception I climb to the top of a 450 foot tall scrap pile of metal to get a better signal. I am also able to check the area out for trespassers while on top of the mountain. One time the metal dislodged and the pile opened up and consumed my six foot frame but, I was still able to use my 8830 to phone the fire department and save my life. Luckily after the rescue just a few scratches were evident, no broken bones. Well, I won’t be climbing any more mountains any time soon. *Please don’t try this it can be hazardous to your health!
