I love the blackberry, but I had a chance to play with the iphone and wow... that thing rocks... all the bb9000 things i have seen does not wow me! it is the same but a little better... big deal.. bb needs to take it up a notch... by changing the game, such as iphone. A paradigm shift is needed in R&D. same old thinking get you same old results.. read Blue Ocean Strategy by Kim & Mauorgne. I will wait to see bb9000 and decide to switch or not... just my 2cents..

I'll just add, remember that we are talking about the Blackberry 9000 series. The current 8000 series has at least 3 distinct models, each with 1, 2, or 3 variants. The pics we are seeing are for the replacement to the 8800 - the enterprise edition of the 9000 series. No pics of the consumer (8300) replacement in the 9000 series have been leaked yet on the internet..

I really don't think this device is going to have a front-facing camera. This blog post lists a few good reasons why.

That sure would be cool, though...

is it just me.....or does everyone else think this 9000 is just too ugly to be true.
i had a chat with a RIM employee last fall who told me to hold off on the curve....that the '08 release would blow it away.....that doesn't sound like the 9000
i think this is all a big hoax to build everyone up for something very cool this fall.

I find this very interesting, especially as the new 3G iPhone is also rumored to have a front facing cam for video chat. Could the 9000 actually be a partnership between RIM and Apple? Blackberry connect written for the iPhone OS?
