I have the bold for 2 weeks now, the standard battery never gave me more than 5 hours of use before it was fully drained.

Now using a 1700 mAh battery which gives me about 8 hours of use.

Just ordered a 2400 mAh bettery, hoping that will give me at least 12-15 hours of normal use.
This bold needs a standard battery of about 4000 mAh to put it to good use.
Love the phone, hate the battery issue on it.

Yeah, I can say with some certainty that there's no 8900 in the works. Touchscreen is a possibility, but nothing confirmed.
