At two recent Red Sox games, my blackberry came in very handy. The first was last month, when I used it to text for updates on my college's NCAA Hockey national championship game, which we ended up winning. Last week, I used the phone to check the scores of the Celtics Game 6 against the Hawks while at the Sox. Naturally, everyone in attendance wanted to know the score, so i ended up yelling to update everyone in my section for the last 4 minutes of the game. People were distracted from the Sox waiting for espn.com on my phone to update, haha.

My 8830WE is my sports lifeline! From my StL Cardinals background to getting updates on the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Red Wings, and Wisconsin Badgers (several sports) with Viigo to direct shortcuts to the Cardinals, Cubs, Brewers, and the whole MLB, I'm never far from updated news and scores.

This helps me get through rough times at work. Of course, especially for baseball, there are many daytime games when I don't have ready access to a television set, so getting real time access to a real web browser for up to the second scores in combination with my vivid imagination that allows me to "see" the game-winning plays in my mind has been invaluable to me.

It has, however, led to a few awkward moments when I have shouted out a "hoorah!" or a "yes!" amidst a quiet meeting. I have now been told to keep my BlackBerry "put away" during meetings from now on!
