Two more BlackBerry Bold impressions and a quick video

UPDATE: Sorry for the delay in video. Blame YouTube.

I had forgot to mention these two things in the rush to post my love letter to the BlackBerry Bold, so I’ll post them now before I head off to bed, along with this video clip I recorded post-Bold fondling.

The Scrollball. Much improved from the Pearl and Curve variants. The indent surrounding the ball isn’t as deep, and the Applications and Back buttons are one continuous piece of plastic. Net result? You have more control over ball movement for a much smoother roll. The ball itself doesn’t seem as cheap and plastic-y.

The Back Casing. Comprised of leather and very sexy. Once again, it’s too refined for a device named ‘Bold’. Ah well. I’m told that you’ll be able to purchase a variety of leather casings in different colors, to pimp your BlackBerry.

So what do you think, folks? Post a comment and let us know if you are Bold crazy like the BBCool crew.

I have been following the Bold since the first leaks (thank you BoyGenius!) and I have always found it to be a sexy model. The leather back casing just makes it more so. I hope to be one of the first to get it once it hits the T-Mobile market! Now if only RIM would release the 4.5 things would be perfect! I wish I was there in Orlando with all you BlackBerry Addicts!

I agree that the back leather casing gives the BB Bold a rich, executive look. But how would that impact the smoothness factor when puting the device in your pocket.

And I hope they don’t have that 5MB limit on file size thru MDS. If we have wifi we should be able to bring a bigger file to bb. This is one thing and full browser that lately forcing me to go to upcoming Nokia E71. I still a hardcore blackberry addict.
