JiveTalk currently rocks the multi-platform instant messaging on BlackBerry these days, but I just got wind of Palringo, which not only covers ICQ, AIM, Live Messenger, GTalk, Yahoo!, and a bunch of other popular IM services, but also lets you share voice notes and pictures easily. There’s also a community element to it, where you can join chat groups for mass communication. It’s a free OTA download, though still in beta, and there’s enterprise rollouts available if you’re in the market. Give it a shot, and let us know how it stacks up against your other mobile IM experiences.

It requires you to sign up for a Palringo account… and even then it will not let me use AIM or GTalk…
WTF? Why does their website keep trying to open my Adobe PDF reader every time I click something?
Also, like above, I also can’t get anything to connect.
Okay…No offense to you guys, but this application sucks ass.
Can’t add accounts on the device, have to add them via the computer.
THEN, when I finally do get the damn thing logged in, my contacts all appear off line, even though I am seeing them online on my MAC.
BOO.
Back to JiveTalk.
Thanks for the info though!
Same thing for me. Try to add a service (aim or whatever) and nothing happens.
Found this on their forums: http://forum.palringo.com/showthread.php?t=620
Same issues as everyone else, can’t add services..had to download the desktop version and install “services” that way but even after that I had disconnects and messages fail,it gives off the whole this was not ready for release vibe,so with that being said..downloaded..installed..tried..epic fail and removed, jivetalk still has my heart in the blackberry im dept.
This suck ass
Palringo really sucks! Can’t even add any service! A total let down…
I installed on BB curve 8310, registered my MSN username and password, and started chatting with one of my contacts. How hard could it be?
I can’t add any accounts, are these guys just sophisticated phishers?
Palringo is the only IM program for the blackberry that also allows me to also use push to talk (awesome–works better than nextel’s product) and also to send pics almost the same time. I had no problems setting Palringo up on my blackberry curve–works perfectly.
