With the recent release of Roger’s new BlackBerry data rates and the unveiling of their iPhone voice and data rates on Friday, we thought now would be a good time to offer a head-to-head comparison of both plans. Unfortunately, while Rogers has updated their data-only plans, they have yet to update their integrated voice and data plan, leaving us to compare the iPhone plan with its approximate BlackBerry counterparts. Still, the results are surprising and might impact your next smartphone purchase.

As you can see from the images above, the BlackBerry narrowly edges out the iPhone on the low end of the price scale, unless you consider an extra 100 MB of data and unlimited evening/weekend minutes to be worth the extra $6 (which you probably will). The high-end is no comparison, however, with the iPhone coming in $40 cheaper for the same features. We’re hoping this will change with an updated BlackBerry combined voice and data plan, but if it doesn’t, this might tip the scale for those wondering which new Rogers device to buy.
