Orange Romania is a GSM cellular provider, not CDMA, so this is why it would not update my phone.

I too used 8703e and I could not get this version to recognize for update. Probably have to wait for someone to release 8703 version...

I tried updating my 8703e, and it didn't prompt (like it normally would) after deleting my vendor.xml file.

Any ideas?

@Stu:
Don't know if the hardware is physically different between a 8700f and a 8700v, or if those are the same hardware just in different exterior cases and different color buttons. It would either go totally smooth (after deleting vendor.xml), or it could brick your phone. Be sure to do a complete backup of everything vital on it before trying anything, and let us know if you try it and it works.

Cents,

The BBcurve needs a microSD card to record movies.

I have OS 4.3, a uSD (an 8 GB) and all is fine with movies and pictures.

Don't forget some features require the BES / BIS to be up to par as well. So provider might make a difference for a few features. But not recording movies maybe just to send them out of your BB.

@Cent:
There is a download for the 8320, so if that's what you have you should be able to use this (after deleting vendor.xml).

Not quite, Cent. Carrier doesn't matter so much, but device certainly does. You'll want to check out the <a href="http://www.blackberrycool.com/2008/07/os-45-available-from-orange-uk/" rel="nofollow">Orange OS 4.5</a> to get your device upgraded. I'm pretty sure it will enable video recording on your device - be sure to let us know how it turns out!

Could I use this on a Curve with T-Mobile and is this the 4.5 OS that will allow me to record video on my Curve? I'm late in the game and seemingly out of touch with what's happening. :)
