I'll believe it when i see it.. Don't see the speakerplug (or jack) staying dry. And if they'r both treated, how is the contact made between the metals of the jack and the plug? Now if the jack had a closed rubber flap, it'd be slightly more believable. I'd like to see that part explained to me. The screen and keyboard part i could believe.

[...] Remember Golden Shellback, those guys who were waterproofing iPods, BlackBerrys and all sorts of other electronics? Well, we had a chance to talk with Sid Martin about the process, when we can expect it to go public, the possibility of manufacturers like RIM picking it up, and how much it might cost you. For more info and updates on Golden Shellback, be sure to check out their site. [...]

[...] Can you imagine not ever having to worry about dropping your BlackBerry is a bucket of water? A new upcoming product called "Golden Shellback" will be the first to use a special technology designed by Marine experts. THe Golden Shellback is a nonconductive polymer which your whole device gets coated in (inside and outside) allowing it to be resistant to water, dirt, dust, oil, etc. Don't believe us? Just check out this promo video that Gizmodo posted. Golden Shellback Gadget Waterproofing from Gizmodo on Vimeo. This technology won't be available for a few more months, but when it does become available you can expect it will retail for around $50 to $75 USD depending on the device. The only draw back to this is in order to have it done you will have to send it to the company. In the mean time if you can't wait for that check out OtterBox who provides a heavy duty protection case for BlackBerry. Details on the Golden Shellback can be found on their website.
