Let's just say I use my Blackberry for calling people and getting my email. IM as well.

It's laughable to thing I would use it for listening to music, or watch movies on it because it's so horrible.

Now, a good different to find out would be, do people find using an iphone for web browsing and email laughable as I do my Blackberry for media?

A 2008 operating system? Are you kidding? At least you can cut and paste with a BlackBerry. Even my old Mobitex device could cut and paste.

While the iPhone is cool for media and browsing, thats about as far as it goes. Touch screens cannot replace a real keyboard for ease of entering data (I had a touch screen on my 2001 iPaq incidentally - it also had wi-fi etc.)

It's a pretty safe bet that BlackBerrys will continue to rule the corporate space once the hype dies down. I imagine thats RIM execs view also.

Now add a slidable keyboard to the large screen and you could have a winner.

Is the iPhone push email the same quality as RIMs? Is it integrated with MS Exchange or Lotus Notes for example? Better be if they want to be in the corporate space.

I live in Waterloo so I know quite a few RIM employees, especially in marketing - trust me when I say that they're giving more thought to the iPhone then they did a month ago. With the phone selling like hotcakes, they're breaking down the phone and really studying it to see why people are willing to wait in line for such a device (toy or not). For what it's worth, they were also surprised iTunes became such a success because of the spread of illegal music... In regards to the statement, they have 3 products coming out before Christmas (bold, thunder, kickstart) - of course they'll downplay the capabilities of the iPhone.
