There’s been some speedy solidifcation of the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 prices that were leaked earlier this morning, with sources confirming a $49.99 promotional deal on the handset with a three-year plan, which will eventually go up to $99.99. Rogers reps will be pimping this one out with a $45 student plan which will include
The plans, which need to include e-mail and a Value Pack, total to $75 and up, which, sad as it may be, is standard for Canadian students.

another quality customer screw up from our firends at the evil Rogers empire. We need more competition!!!
@J.P.
What exactly do you have a problem with? The device cost or the ’student plan’? I actually think $50 for the Pearl 8220 is perfect.
If Verizon had the 8230 in the US, I’d buy it to replace my Pearl and Curve in a heartbeat. Looks like the perfect pocket sized BlackBerry to me.
it may be alot for the plan, but honestly you are getting alot for your money, $75 would get you your student plan and 6GB of data monthly, and add $10 and you can add 2500 texts, call display, voicemail, and more…. $85 is pretty good when you look at what the 8220 has to offer. i’ll be picking one up for sure.
