2. Download handheld software

The only thing to really keep in mind when downloading the software proper for your device is that it needs to be for your model. As stated above, be sure to check Options>About in order to check your device model number. The source doesn’t matter so much, so go ahead and use the most recent versions of the software below, but we’ve included the download sites for plenty of other carriers your convenience. It’s generally recommended that you use your carrier’s software if they have the most recent version.

    installed the new OS, it was all good for a couple of hours, then it started to reset it self time and time again.

    hey im trying to upgrade my blackberry bold with the new os v5.0.0.411, but when i open the application loader it sais :
    available updates:
    blackberry 5.0 for 9000
    then i click next it starts the “task in process” and in the update summary it sais nothing

    Very, very newbie here! Plz be patient with me. My daughter just gave me her Curve 8320 cause she upgraded to Iphone. My prob is that I have a 2 yr cntrct w/AT&T and the Blakbry is branded with T-Mobile logo. Can it be activated by AT&T or do I have to go thru T-Mobile?

    Hi! I need help for my 8320. Suddenly, my unit has no sound. no alert tones/sound for incoming calls, messages, other apps and mp3. Even if I browse the alert tones one by one, from the profile, there is still no sound. Has anyone encountered this problem? What to do? Thanks!

    i was syncing my BB with my laptop (outlook) and the same thing happened to me. Took to Alltell Store and they spent 3 hours trying to help; i ended up buying a new 83330/Curve. Still have the old World Edition in great condition. Did you ever get a reply to your question? i get the same box/symbols, but am unable to turn 'phone off/on. Same screen.

    i see all these questions but no answers….

    Yes, That is a big problem with the 8330 as I receive alot of voice texts. You have to pull the battery and let it reload to get the sound back!

    Mikeeb-did you upgrade your 8310 to a higher grade like a 8520 and retrieve even the password keeper?

    here what I did
    pull out the battery and connect the mobile
    then start desktop manager and wait for a while
    then put on your battery the system will update the mobile. However, you will lose all the information on the mobile.
    Anyway, since you get the white screen no one can get you back any information unless you have a back up before. So try this and good luck.

    I have tried to upgrade my software… my computer shows the progress of the upgrade, and once it has been ‘connecting to device’ for quite a while, displays error message ‘please validate internet question’ any ideas what this means?

    after i upgraded my pearl 8100 from 4.2 to 4.5, the phone has been acting funny, its goes off and on continuously, i cant access anything on it and it has been going on for days like that now, pls what do i do?

    i was updating my pearl 8130 and during the reboot it said tthis will last for like 30 minutes and like an hour went by  i googled what to do and it said to disconnect and plug back in when i did that the phone stayed at a white screen and it wont change even when i take the battery out and plug it back in to my computer and try re updating it , it wont work i dont knw what should i do ?
