american airlines blackberry program

The term ‘road warrior’ is practically synonymous with BlackBerry, so today’s announcement from American Airlines is going to excite a lot of people. RIM is now officially a participant in American Airline’s AAdvantage program, meaning that AAdvantage members can now earn 4,000 AAdvantage bonus miles when they purchase a new BlackBerry at an online store powered by online retailer Simplexity.

To receive the 4,000 AAdvantage miles, customers must visit http://www.blackberry.com/aa, complete a qualifying purchase of a BlackBerry phone with a new or extended wireless plan, and provide their AAdvantage account number at checkout.

Of course, once you have your new BlackBerry and AAdvantage miles, you can then visit American Airline’s mobile site to book flights, change many domestic reservations, view fare specials, and request upgrades.

AAdvantage miles will be awarded for purchases made through the Cellular Miles store only within 8-10 weeks of activation. AAdvantage members are eligible to earn 4,000 miles for each purchase of a BlackBerry phone with a new standard post paid wireless service contract or a post paid wireless service contract extension. To be eligible, AAdvantage members must (1) maintain the wireless line of service activated through Simplexity for 12 weeks after the activation date, (2) not deactivate or downgrade the wireless plan originally signed up for through Simplexity, and (3) provide their AAdvantage membership number at the time of purchase. Family plans and shared plans constitute one rate plan, regardless of the number of phones ordered. Additional restrictions may apply.

American Airlines reserves the right to change AAdvantage program rules, regulations, travel awards and offers at any time without notice, including the right to, among other things, (1) modify or cancel any award or offer, (2) change program benefits, mileage levels or rules related to mileage credits or travel awards, or (3) add embargo dates, limit award travel seat availability, or otherwise restrict travel awards or offers. American may make changes even if use of accumulated mileage credits or awards is affected. The accumulation of mileage credits does not entitle members to any vested rights. American further reserves the right to end the AAdvantage program upon six months notice. AAdvantage travel awards, mileage accrual and special offers are subject to government regulations.
