I’ve had the damn instant messaging folder on my Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8330 since I got the phone back in April — How’s this news?

They are service books…You can delete them in desktop manager all you want..the stupid browser config icons ALWAYS come back! Like I say..easily hide them, but just knowing they are there annoys me.

And anyone who is posting “I have this on my…”..is robably a T-Mobile customer as they have always had all the IM clients downloadable, where as other carriers have blocked it before opting to go with Oz IM instead of the RIM clients.

So all in all this is new to some, others eh…not so much.

I have the folder on my Curve, running 4.2 ’cause T-Mobile still doesn’t have a 4.5 release out there. I deleted all except Yahoo and BB Messenger via Options/Advanced/Applications.

I have that folder on my 8100 running 4.5.0.69 and it has all the IM’s in it. As far as pre loading, all you have to do is go into desktop manager and deselect the ones you don’t want.

4.5 has a create folders option on the home screen… you can make your own and put your icons in them.
Makes for a tidy and organized today screen, but fast access to all the apps.

The preloading annoys me, I dunno why but it does..service books ya can never get rid of sure u can hide the icons and such but still, I guess I’m just picky about that stuff lol, aside from that when ya change themes for the first couple of times it moves BBM in there as well, maybe I just need to stop being so frack’n picky lmao

I’ve got a lot of the existing IM clients packed on my Bold, and now that the limitations on carriers are starting to be lifted, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the whole lot (ICQ, AIM, MSN, GTalk) to be preloaded on the Flip.
