In timely response to Nan’s first Power User editorial, Orangatame Software has released an update to TwitterBerry, their popular free Twitter app for BlackBerry. The two most important improvements are LED alerts and the ability to refresh timelines while not on the home screen; you can see a list of further improvements after the jump. We’d write up a quick review of the new TwitterBerry, but our friend Al Sacco beat us to it!

TwitterBerry 0.7 Beta feature updates
* Polling support, accessible from the Options menu (I couldn’t find any Options menu…)
* Cache more tweets. Caching up to 200 of the latest tweets in your friends timeline, replies timeline, and direct messages.
* Reload timelines from the screen, without opening and closing
* Improved network requests, only loading new tweets since last request
* Multiple bug fixes
* TwitPic support. Look for the ‘Send to TwitPic’ menu in the Media application when viewing images. (I also didn’t see any such menu option in my BlackBerry Media app…)

I’m not seeing an update available.
It looks like the update is only available using an OTA install. Hit this link on your BlackBerry:

N/M. Read the other article. The beta link is here: http://orangatame.com/ota/twitterberry/beta/
I love Twitterberry but I hate that I can’t click on someone’s name and see only their tweets – very frustrating if I see an @reply but didn’t see the original tweet they’re referencing!
You can view all the tweets from one contact but you can’t see the original tweet of a @reply.
It is not working for me. I keep getting Invalid username/password, even though the “Test Connection” button says success. This looks so promising…
Same problem as Steve…anyone know anything?
Same error as Steve and Eric… It is not working on my 8310
For anyone having problems w/ the username password issue…
Found the solution elsewhere:
Install version .6 first, then install .7 on top of it.
Works for me. 8310/curve running OS4.5.

Version .7: http://www.orangatame.com/ota/twitterberry/beta/
Doesn’t work on the Storm. Only works in portrait mode and only shows the public timeline.
Not impressed.
