Just want to let any Etisalat BB users that Etisalat is offering the OS 4.5. Unfortunately, the only way of getting it is calling up the toll free number 101 and requesting for it.
Options at the link for the new firmware also include OS4.5 for the 8800 and 8820 (but not any Pearl, yet).
FYI: It’s version 4.5.0.81 of the OS.
Can this be downloaded to ATT 8310?

Yes it can be sure to delete the file called Vendor.xml first, it will then become loadable on any carrier.

@nicklas and anyone with a GSM BlackBerry Curve, you can absolutely install this on your device. Do as Bla1ze says and delete the vendor.xml file and you’re good.

Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It’s located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

You no longer have to delete any files. If you go through the blackberry.com website and select “Software” from the navigation menu, and the choose phone software from the main screen you will be able to access the 4.5v OS from there.
umm, has anyone else tried downloading the rogers file and have it stop just before it finishes the download?
its like the 6th time im retrying to download the file and it stops at 1 minute left!!!
oh well, I will just download at&t’s 4.5os and then get rid of that vendor file
