I’ll be hedging my bets… My BB is givng me fits and is ready to be replaced (It’s had a long, useful life) and I’ll be jumping ship to Android as it’s replacement. Just the *thought* of it (Owing a Microsoft controlled product) makes me ill.

It will be ATT, and everybody at RIM knows the writing is on the wall for that. Look how many of ATT personnel have been parachuted into RIM leadership roles lately. With the exception of a few token sites in Germany and another country, almost all of RIM’s technology development expansion is occuring in the US, at or near ATT facilities. How many Canadians get promoted into key leadership positions at RIM anymore? Look how harsh the working environment has become- it’s very much American style management. RIM has already sold out to the US, but Im sure they will continue to milk Canada for everything they can.

I think this would be the worst thing ever to happen to one of the most incredible companies in the world…the reason Blackberry is so awesome is because of it’s quality OS…Microsoft wouldn’t know what a great OS was if it kicked them in the hard drive.

Having come from using WinMo phones through university and up until recently when I switched to the berry, I can say that the BB OS is much better suited to use in the smartphone catagory than WinMo. And I agree, the day MS takes over RIM will be a sad day. Not only will quality fail, but it will be annother innovative successful Canadian company taken over by an uncaring US giant, redusing Canadain influance and innovation on the world tech scene and breaking the hearts of Canadians everywhere

If I wanted windows on my phone I would have bought a windows phone. I would drop BlackBerry and switch to a Palm. I prefer not to do that.

well , this is the last thing I would like to see on this planet, although I like competition! well guys google has made MS and Yahoo pretty cool and competitive and same is the case with apple which has made nokia and BB to come up with new innovations in the mobile smartphone market, not to mention but BB Bold rocks !

The joy of using a Blackberry would disappear if the Windows OS were on it. But just because they are bought out doesn’t mean the loss of Blackberry OS. Perhaps MS would see the value of a future mobile OS based on BBOS rather than their currently ancient WinMo??? Or maybe a dual OS strategy, run either on your device?
