So you don’t follow BB news much eh? that’s okay.

In USA:
Bold = ATT
Storm = Verizon

Bold could be bought and “unlocked” to work on TMO, but not at 3G speed. Storm will ONLY work on Verizon (and Bell/Telus in Canada). It’s a CDMA/EVDO thing.

You will need to decide two things:
1 you want ATT or Verizon?
2 touch screen or keyboard.

Those will make the decision for you. You should go hands on try both once they are out though. You’ll be locked in for two years so chose wisely!

a basic rundown….if im looking for my first blackberry should i go for the storm or the bold….now im not big business or anything so i just like practical useful features….which is better for the average guy

“No Wi-Fi hurts at this conference. The Storm was running on GSM and the EDGE speed to load the BlackBerry Cool website was killer. Also, the browser still has some rendering/javascript issues, but the device isn’t out yet so give it time.”

It also hurts when you get off of a plane and find that your carrier is experiencing problems in the location you just landed in and you can’t make a call, you can’t send an email and you can’t sms anyone. Ask me how I know.

If my device would have had wi-fi I could have gotten around not having service for 3 freakin days. Please include the wifi, or I might have to wait on this one.

BlogReader (??) – That way it gives Opera and Mozilla to develop their own breed of mobile browsing. Although i do agree with what you’re saying, but consider this, competition pushes the envelope.

Why give them any time? They’ve had years to work on their extremely poor browser. They don’t they just throw in the towel and pay Opera to do it and be the default one. Why does BB have to do all of their software “development” in house?

Kyle–I thought what you said was funny. But in reality it’s sad that a blogger of a tech-blog won’t take a few moments to learn how to take photos or buy a better digi-cam.

Either way I can’t wait to get my hands on a Bold since my work is not leaving at&t for Verizon anytime soon.

NICE!! It looks/sounds incredible, thanks for giving us the rundown of the device…I’m really looking forward to switching from Tmo to Verizon this November!
