Just tried to have a replacement sent out to me. When I purchased the phone from bell I asked if it would work back home in my small town ...they assured me it would and they sold me the GSM phone. Went back home and it didn't work. Turns out the network back home is CDMA. Had the phone for a year ( locked into a 3 year contract with a phone that is pretty much useless to me for 6 months out of the year). Lost it the other day. Went to use insurance and asked to have it replaced with a CDMA of equil or lesser value and Joel at asurion the insurer said it could not be done ...called bell and they gave me the run around with a few blatant lies. As always bell's customer service managed to push me to cancel service and pay opt out fee. 4 hour total on the phone ...the worst

Completing a claim for a broken/lost phone voids any BlackBerry / Bell warranty. The warranty that comes with any phone from a claim with this "deal" is only 120 days long and after that you are SOL. You can have your phone replaced twice and after that... SOL. Even if the phone is defective. This plan is ridiculous! I've had two phones- both with common BlackBerry defects that just need fixing and this plan makes that impossible!

Subscribing to a good insurance plan is definitely a good idea and a smart investment, particularly with regards to smart phones.
