It seems to me it should be worth it even with the delay. I would imagine you could save a lot of plan minutes using this app. May not be perfect, but not bad for a budget alternative. Given the choice of constantly dropping calls with Sprint or having a slight delay when I use hipvoice, I'll take the slight delay any day of the week.

A great concept and substitue for what might be considered VoIP or VoIM PTT messaging. Unlike true radio PTT, it lacks the latency (time delay between the moment something is initiated, and the moment one of its effects begins or becomes detectable) that is available from a true radio network. PTT over IP has come a long way in the past decade and with ever increaing data speeds and technology/software, we are seeing the lag time between PTT over IP calls growing smaller and shorter. Other similar products I've seen out there are VMS (voice messaging) and visual voicemail. This software seems to fuse those together creating a PTT experience.

did anyone watch the clip. there is a delay even for the short messages he sent. with nextel it is instant like a normal phone conversation. this service will be useless unless they can speed it up greatly.
