BGR has grabbed some screenshots of BlackBerry Visual Voicemail running on an AT&T BlackBerry Bold. Apparently, this feature will make its way to AT&T via OS 4.6.0.219. No word yet on when AT&T will roll out the OS update or if they’ll charge for it (it’s AT&T, what do you think?), but we’ll keep you in the know once we hear something. For now, you can see more of what BlackBerry Visual Voicemail will look like after the jump.

I have trouble getting away from my BlackBerry Address Book. As simple as this stock application is, as basic at it looks, it simply works. E-Mobile Software Inc. has come out with e-Mobile Contacts, an app designed to give you an at-a-glance view of all of your contacts, and the option of contacting those in your address book by e-mail, phone or SMS – depending on the contact information you have stored on your device. I was pretty excited to get my hands on an Address Book replacement because of all the possible benefits of the user interface, and the potential this holds for speeding up the endless search for contacts. And from what I’ve seen of e-Mobile Contacts, the UI looks pretty clean. Perhaps I won’t have to type Xela Zsang’s name every time I want to get to her info!

Back in July we reported that Nokia was keeping RIM’s lagging BlackBerry Connect service off future Nokia devices. Word had now come from Nokia’s Tom Furlong, head of Nokia Messaging, that RIM is taking matters into its own hands.
However, Furlong also left us with this little statement, ‘We are in the interim period of time when we have dropped support ourselves, and Blackberry is readying support for their service on Nokia devices‘, meaning that enterprise S60 lovers will (hopefully) soon be able to enjoy BlackBerry services on their Eseries (and hopefully others) once again.
While we don’t have any way yet of confirming this, it’s safe to assume that what Furlong is talking about RIM’s forthcoming BlackBerry Application Suite, which will surely drive the last nail in BB Connect’s coffin.

The ongoing struggle between RIM and Certicom continues. When last we left these two companies, RIM had extended their offer to Certicom shareholders until January 27th.
Since then, the Ontario Superior Court has granted Certicom’s request for an injunction, and blocked RIM’s hostile takeover. RIM is now reportedly mulling its options and considering an appeal to the Superior Court. Without an appeal, the court action would also prohibit RIM from participating in any auction for Certicom without Certicom’s permission.
Unfamiliar in the ways of hostile takeovers, I’m not certain at what point RIM should decide to cut its losses and quit pursuing Certicom, but I’m certain they’re nearing it.

The famous line here is “if you can’t innovate, litigate.” Saxon, a tiny company of only 5 employees, bought a series of patents back in 2007 from AMD. These patents are the grounds for their current lawsuit against RIM and a host of other device manufacturers. The company is trying to shut down US imports until they are compensated for the alleged breach of patents.
According to InfoWorld these patents are:
* A keypad monitor patent was granted in August 1993
* Interrupt marks patent was granted in June 1996
* Mailbox patent was granted in March 1997
