BBScreenShooter is a free screenshot app for BlackBerry that has recently gone version 1.65a. Here are some updates to the app:
* Better support for the Storm & Bold (though it still fails every once in awhile)
* A nice new progress bar showing you the progress of the screenshot
* A new update check button on the bottom left (Just click the “!”)
Using the app requires you to download javaloader.exe, which can be a bit of a pain for some. Remember DOS? If not then you might be better off with Rove’s app which is more user friendly and doesn’t require the javaloader.exe.
You can pick up the latest version free at this link:

Avian Reasearch has published a top monthly retail report for handsets across America. The results are in and the Curve is at the top of the list! The runners up are the iPhone and the Storm. Nice going RIM, 2 out of the top 3.
The survey included answers from 100 retail managers and sales reps from AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile shops across the country. The results therefore don’t count any online, second hand, mail order and other sales channels. The top ten is as follows:
1. BlackBerry Curve
2. Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone
3. BlackBerry Storm
4. LG Voyager (up from 6th.)
5. LG Dare (down from 4th.)
6. BlackBerry Bold (down from 5th.)
7. Samsung Rant (new)
8. Samsung Behold (up from 9th.)
9. Samsung Instinct (up from 10th.)
10. LG Env2 (down from 8th.)
Do you think this list adequately represents what’s the best smartphone out there? Or are consumers easily duped into buying bad hardware?

Three way calling is a teenage girl’s favorite tool for getting back at their arch nemesis. It’s also good for a low budget conference call with coworkers. Here’s how you do it:
1. Dial your first call using the address book or dial it with the keypad, or await someone else calling.
2. When the two lines are connected, press the Talk button, or the green call button.
3. On this screen, type the name or number you want to call. Then press the Talk button again.
4. Once you are connected with the third line, press the Menu button.
5. Once the window is opened, press the option that says, Join.
6. The two calls are now connected.
7. To disconnect from one caller but not the other, press the Menu button again.
8. Go to the End Call option.
9. A new screen will pop up asking you who you want to disconnect.
10. Chose the caller you would like to disconnect.
11. You have disconnected them.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is so far my favorite BlackBerry device. I really enjoyed my first 8330 and would use it even over the Bold. It’s the form factor and keypad that make the device for me. The 8900 has done a great job of improving on the basics, and I would gladly put it head to head with any Nokia or WinMo phone.
The 8900 has GPS, a better camera, and a better screen as compared to the old BlackBerry Curve. That being said, there is always room for more improvement.
Are there any BlackBerry Curve 8900 users out there? What do you think so far?
Thinking of getting one? Why or why not?

An unofficial release of the BlackBerry OS 4.7.0.109 for the Storm 9530 has been leaked on the CrackBerry Forums. I’m posting the download links but I should add that we can’t recommend downloading and installing an unapproved OS. Before you download, you should be a power user that enjoys taking risks with this sort of stuff.
