Bell has recently announced that they’re acquiring the retail giant The Source. Bell will be using the store to help grow Bell’s wireless, digital TV, Internet and home phone services. The Source plans to carry the full array of Bell consumer services at its more than 750 stores across Canada, including Bell Mobility, Solo Mobile and potentially Virgin Mobile wireless products and services.
The Source is known for offering low prices due to its box store and no frills mentality. Does this mean we can expect to see lower handset prices? I’m hoping that with zero commission sales people, large volumes and increased demand, we can expect to see prices fall.
[UPDATE: I obviously confused The Source with Circuit City. Still, expect to see way more of Bell soon.]
