I don’t think it’s a bad idea to have onboard memory–and it seems like if you’re going to include memory, it should be substantial (not a lame 1GB). Still, it’s hard to argue against removable memory. I can’t see many decent arguments for how internal memory is better–external memory is cheap and easy to upgrade over time. In a year, a standard 8GB iPhone is going to seem sort of ridiculous when 32-64GB microSD cards are <$100. Too bad the iPhone doesn’t offer BOTH.

My biggest complaint with BlackBerry and big memory cards is the indexing/scanning is HORRIBLY slow. If you load up a 16GB card with memory and stick it in your BlackBerry, you’ve got a LONG wait before it’s ready. I am talking hours. It seems like it shouldn’t take THAT long.

That’s a rather strange question. They have Music and video stores so that we can purchase music and videos on the fly.
If you hate music and videos, then by all means stay away from the iPhone.

16 gigs is more than enough for my needs.
If the device dies, or gets lost, simply sinc a saved back-up copy from your hard drive into a new device.

If you hate music and videos, then by all means stay away from the iPhone.

I agree.. BlackBerry OS updates are lame. You lose all your settings for third-party apps and you have to re-activate with the BES. It’s a different 100MB download for every model.

The thing not captured by this chart, which I am SO thoroughly disgusted about with the iPhone, is the lack of ability to invite others to calendar events. It is totally ridiculous. I haven’t seen any mention of that being added in 3.0.

I think this list is pretty interesting actually. People talk their phones up so much, it’s nice to get it all on paper and look at which phones have/don’t have the features.
