Hmm, yes if there's no way to set levels of access to the location data it's not worth me trying out. Tested Instamapper earlier on a bike ride, seems to work quite well;

Yes, "any blackberry but the storm" might be a useful way of putting it.
BB comes up with these catchy names, you should use them. i don;t know what # a storm is

Not very secure.

All this app does is send your location to their website while it's running.

The problem is that the web address that you give out is simply using your blackberry PIN as the lookup value.

There is no way to give each of your contacts a different link
There is no way to prevent that contact you sent your location to from viewing your location later on except to stop using the software.

So if you are OK with giving out your location and never being able to remove their access in the future without abandoning the whole thing then great.

Also if you do decide to abandon the software then I don't see any way to remove your last location so it will always show the last place you were at. People could just start randomly guessing BB PIN numbers to find people who use the service along with where they were the last time they used the program.

I'm going to go drive out to the middle of nowhere, update my last location and then delete this thing until they have added some security measures to it.

Perhaps this should read "any Blackberry except the Storm", which is not listed as being supported. :(

Yet another GPS app, the popularity of them is increasing. Good thing that they are becoming more and more interesting and offer more features. Would be willing to try it out for the "Share Location" feature, thats something for the e-mail, pin and sms compatability. Still mostly using Google Maps as I'm used to it, but the better and faster they make these apps the better.

Installed the app but all it does is search for satellites. GPS is enabled and finds satellites just fine in BB maps. I have a verizon 8330. I have also played with app permissions but to no avail. Any thoughts?
