yatca Twitter

Our old buddy Simon pointed us to a new third party Twitter app for BlackBerry called Yatca (Yet Another Twitter Client Application). The app integrates your Tweets with your native messages folder. The app currently supports updates every 5 minutes, but expect this to change in the near future. New BlackBerry push APIs are becoming available, so we’ll soon see Tweets getting pushed so you can Twitter in real-time.

For more information, go to their website.

Downlaod Yatca for your device OTA here.

Love him or hate him, Dick Cheney is now a BlackBerry user. After spending 8 years as Vice President of the United States of America, he can now get push email and check his Twitter updates any time he wants. Cheney uses his BlackBerry a lot for getting the latest updates and information – “I follow a lot of issues,” Cheney said.

Cheney is also driving now. “Driving myself now,” Cheney said. “Secret Service follows me around, but they now let me drive myself.”

Video of the BlackBerry Niagara 9630

Comments

Got the word from IM that the CBForums have video of the BlackBerry Niagara 9630. The video is of pretty terrible quality and looks a little like it was filmed with a cameraphone. I noticed a slight difference when I pressed the HQ button on YouTube, but it’s not as satisfying as you’d like. Whenever these videos are uploaded, they need to go on Blip or Vimeo, because they can serve up much higher quality video. In any case, the device is running OS 4.7.1.10 and it’s very buggy. The phone still looks great!

CB has posted another pic of the BlackBerry Niagara. This time the device is turned on so you can see a few of the icons as well as it makes the pic a little better. The BlackBerry Niagara 9630 is shaping up to be one of the nicest looking devices in RIM’s product line.
