Are you experiencing problems with App World?

App World issues

App World is a great idea and it will surely be a success for RIM but most products have a few kinks come launch week. Some BlackBerry owners have been getting error messages that their device is incompatible. RIM has moved quickly to fix the issue and is replacing version 1.0.0.26 with 1.0.0.27, which for many resolved the problem.

So if you’re experiencing problems, download App World again!

I live in Belgium so the only problem is I can not buy apps trough the store. Must be a good reason why only a few countries are allowed now. Hello BlackBerry, do you guys want to earn something? :-)

I receive the following error with both versions: “Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again.”

My network connections are fine as I can browse with Opera Mini.

    Anyone else facing this?

    Blackberry 8800, OS 4.2

“BlackBerry App World is not available on devices with trackwheels.” Would be nice if they fixed that…

BBAW works on my Bold, and it’s interesting as a launch, though I’d like to see more apps and a way to get more detail. One glitch appears to be that in the “Games” category, while there are 171 apps listed, when you select that folder only 1 game shows up, and I can’t figure out how to browse through those titles. The search function doesn’t seem to be working right either.

Re-downloaded and replaced 1.0.0.26 with 1.0.0.27 and it seems to have done the trick.

I feel really sad being spaniard and Storm user. To start with, there’s no way to download BBAW in my Storm. I’m sure that those clever guys in Toronto will fix it soon, but then comes the frustration of no being in USA, Canada or UK. What about Internet allowing B2C worldwide?

I hade .026 and now .027 and still get the:

“Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again.”

    …error.

BB 8330 Bell OS 4.5.077. Checked with the system admin and he can’t figure it out. So I’m not sure if this is “our” problem or RIM’s problem.

Kind of off topic …. but are apps linked to your paypal or an account? If I buy an app and then replace/upgrade my phone do I have to buy the apps again?

    Hi,

I live in Holland, and the funny thing is, I have BBAW in my phone (Storm) and can get most of the apps, either the free ones or the paid versions. But since lately I’ve been experiencing problems with certain paid apps. I can look them up, but as soon as I want to go throught the Paypal page to pay, I get the meaasge I see displayed on a lot of posts: “Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again.”

I don’t dare uninstal end re-install, out of fear the re-install will fail.
I’ve seen the idea of deleting the Desktop IPPP from the servicebooks, but I don’t have such an option in my list of servicebooks. Any ideas anyone?

I’m not an a BES by the way, so that’s certainly not the issue.
