i have a little square clock that runs all the time on my blackberry storm 2 it runs my battery down in about 3 hours i know it is a browser or i think it is and all app are turned off what is this and how do i stop it please help if you could give me a phone number i would call you i need help

I have Bold 8700. I installed Opera Mini. On the home page I moved it so it appears above the default browser. It now appears to work as default browser, eg if I click a hyperlink in an email, it will open in Opera. Works for a friend of mine with same model.

Nessie and Eric, That’s mean you dont have Blackberry dataplan BIS from your provider. Get one, or you can try BOLT or OPERA mini.

hi… have same problem with Eric. I have blackberry 9630 unlocked. And every time i try to use the browser it gives me a prompt that “your device does not have any browser configuration book entries, please contact your service provider”. please need help. thank you. God bless.

I agree, the title was misleading considering the end result is that you cannot change the default browser. So I think the “How-to” should have been omitted.

Also, brendon you are mistaken. You don’t have 3 browsers installed on your BB. There is only one browser, which is the default BB browser. The options you are talking about are settings which control how websites recognize your browser. Some sites work better with IE rather than Firefox and vise-versa. Currently Firefox does not have a mobile browser released for BB (yet, keep your fingers crossed).

This is a very misleading title for an article! It should be called “Can I change the default browser on my BlackBerry?”. Is that what is not what is being asked?

Wrong.
It maybe the case for you but my blackberry storm has 3 browsers installed. Blackberry, IE and firefox. Firefox is my browser of choice because a site I frequent does not work properly with the other two browsers
