BGR has got his hands on some leaked codenames for upcoming BlackBerry devices. The specs for the devices are confirmed, but the release dates are still unknown. Here is the breakdown:

BlackBerry Onyx:

* GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS device
* GPS
* Camera
* Wi-Fi (no UMA support)
* QWERTY keyboard
* 480×360 resolution screen
* Confirmed carriers: AT&T

BlackBerry Driftwood:

* GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS device
* GPS
* Camera
* Wi-Fi with UMA
* QWERTY keyboard

BlackBerry Magnum:

* GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS device
* GPS
* Camera
* Wi-Fi (no UMA support)
* QWERTY keyboard
* 480×360 resolution screen
* Confirmed carriers: AT&T

The BlackBerry Driftwood and Magmum are likely the same device but meant for different carriers. Also, the BlackBerry Magnum is possibly the touchscreen and QWERTY combo that we’ve been waiting for.

Although we’re not sure about what carrier to expect, it seems RIM will be slowly refreshing the Bold with a UMA-capable version.

These devices are all part of the 9000 series and will all be incredibly fresh.

What do you think about these upcoming devices? Does anyone else think the BlackBerry Driftwood is a funny codename?

    I’m contemplating getting my first BlackBerry sometime in the near future. I’m leaning towards waiting for the Niagara to come out (hopefully on Verizon’s network). Now this news comes out about a possible touchscreen device with a physical keyboard…man, now do I wait for that to come out?? lol. My wife has the Storm and while I think the touch screen is a very intuitive way of navigating arund the device, I have problems with virtual keyboard.

    I’ve had both Verizon and currently have AT&T. their prices are comparable. The only difference is AT&T’s better customer service and phone reception and just the better over all experience. Not to mention AT&T holds 60% of the cell phone market share. I’m so happy they bought out T-Mobile America. AT&T is back in their #1 spot :)
