The forums are abuzz with news that Bell has released an official update for the Blackberry Storm 9530.
Some Bell users received an email this afternoon stating that an upgrade was made available.
Although the OS is not available conveniently through RIM’s website, Bell users can get a hold of it once they connect their Storm’s via Desktop Manager. Once connected, it will signal that there is an update and users can proceed accordingly.
Try it and let us know!

Come on Verizon!
Why is Verizon so behind everyone else? This is really out of control!
Another rumor…
Not a rumor. Very real. You can download the java & cdma files from megaupload. The signed installer is not available yet.
@FartMan
This is far from being a rumor. I’m running this OS right now.
You could take a look over here:

Hey LouTreize ! how it works? is fast? cant you tell what are the new features?
Thaks!
Smooth and quick install with auto backup/restore. Device running fine, but visible differences are very small (cursor, full keyboard in portrait…) and performance only seems slightly better to me.
Alright, anyone know what’s taking Telus so long?
Any one know if you have to downgrade to .75 to be able to install? I am running a leaked .113. I am a Bell subscriber.
I’ve decided that Verizon just wants their customers to hate them enough to switch to another carrier. LET US UPGRADE!!!! First no 8830 upgrades and now Storm…WTF????
@Kev_26
Hey, it works great, it’s very smooth. Feels faster, more responsive. The camera application is quick to open and use. Even the keyboard feels quicker when tapping on it. It’s nicely done. No new features though.
@cptstnkpnts
Hey, no need to downgrade. The Desktop Manager will automatically (should automatically) upgrade your Blackberry when plugged in.
How do you install v4.7.0.122 on the Storm using a Mac computer ?
Cheers.
Hey guys,
I am trying to update my storm to the newest OS software through the Desktop Manager v.4.7 but it always starts and then stops at “Downloaded Modules 272 of 318″.
Did this happen to others? How can we fix or avoid this? Need help.
Thanks
Does anyone know if Verizon has the new update yet?
will this work on a Verizon Storm?
I have Verizon and just upgraded to this .122 version. I HATE IT. I don’t know if it is just me, but the battery has drained super super quick since I updated. The landscape to vertical is faster for switching, but I am considering going to back to .75 to save my batter life. Yesterday I answered the phone ONCE and the battery was dead within 8 hours. No internet use or anything, and it was dead.
