This is pretty good for playing every file type on both my PC and my BlackBerry. The User Interface leaves a lot to be desired. I can't browse a directory while I'm watching a video; once I click on a folder, the folder's contents show up in the display, replacing the video that I was watching. Also, I can only navigate down from the default folder. Double Twist defaults to the My Documents folder, and I could navigate to its sub-folders, but the only way that I found to get to the folders where I keep my videos was to go into "Preferences" and change the default folder. Ultimately, I just set the default to the top-level folder on my video hard drive (E:\).

The help isn't all that great, although I was able to find out that the reason that I couldn't drag and drop files from Double Twist to my BlackBerry, as they do in the demo video, is that this functionality only works on the Mac. That's easy to work around -- I can just move all of the files that I want to transfer into a "ToBBY" directory. (I have to do that in Windows; I can't drag and drop from one folder to another in Double Twist.) Even so, I kept getting the message that my files were skipped when I tried to synch. I finally figured out that it was because I have password protection on my Berry, and, unlike Roxio and Desktop Manager, Double Twist doesn't prompt for the password. Once I took off protection, I was able to synch, but I couldn't select the folder on my BlackBerry where synched files go -- they just went to the "Video" folder. I would've liked to have been able to specify a sub-folder. Also, the video went to what looks like 180 x 180. I didn't have the option of setting the size (as I do, for example, in Seabyrd's Blackberry Video Converter). The video quality is good, and the video that I tested went from 284 MBytes on my PC to 114 on my BlackBerry.

For free, Beta software, it's all right. I'd probably uninstall it, though, if it weren't for its ability to play any video on any connected devices. As far as synching, there are just too many hurdles -- move everything into a synch directory, take off password protection, move the files to the subfolder where I want them after they're converted and transfered; plus, the viewing size issue.
