EJL, you are describing exactly what this app does. You can set the orientation of the Home Screen and leave all the other apps to rotate automatically.

i wish they just had an app that locked the home screen and all the apps switched automatically. i find the homescreen to be annoying when it switches back and forth and you have to wait for thing to switch. i’d rather just know that the homescreen is always one orientation. there’s something that feels more stable about this. maybe i just like this feature with the iphone but mostly i get annoyed taking it out of my pocket or picking it up and it switching at least once or twice before I can do anything.

You should mention stoptilt, which costs the same right now, offers a free trial (which this does not), and is faster to use (requires less clicks).
