RIM better give me a very good reason to give up my Storm. After watching that video I can’t really see why I would spend another $600 to get this storm. They better offer something other than a faster CPU or I will be very happy to wait for the Storm 3.

SurePress is what made the Storm great! The problem wasn’t with the SurePress, but the slow Java UI libraries…. The OS upgrades (.113 & .141) were a huuuuugeee step, but Verizon F***’s up yet again and won’t release them… Their current OS isn;t stable, and most ppl have fewer problems with .141, so why not release it?!? Besides being WiFi enabled, and the new bottom buttons, I don’t think the Storm 2 is much different… We’ll hafto wait for the OS of course…

Can’t believe how much I’ve grown to hate the SurePress, and how I miss the good ol’ BB full keyboard… Should go to the Bold, then? Problem is, having a huge screen is a major plus… I would have loved it, if it had been more like the HTC Dream, with the full screen but also a pop-up keyboard.
However, getting rid of the clicking, sure is a big thing. Does it justify buying the new device? I don’t think so. Remember when Apple slashed the iPhone price in half soon after it started selling it? If the Storm 2 doesn’t give us MORE, I bet RIM is gonna have some pretty pissed customers as well.

IMO that just sucks. It’s the SurePress that I didn’t like at first, but it has grown to be my favorite part of my Storm. I completely LOVE the SurePress screen now and it drives me crazy to use an iPhone/iTouch where the screen doesn’t click down. I’ll be sad to see it go.

Are they going to offer an option to turn off SurePress for existing Storm users? I don’t see why they can’t…it’s a minor technical change and over the air update that can be done. I’ll feel pretty jipped if I have to buy a Storm 2 just to get a new keyboard that functions as true touch screen.
