Evernote for BlackBerry now available with OTA link

evernote for blackberry

When I last posted about Evernote, the comments were pretty upset about availability. First, the download is only available for the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the BlackBerry Storm. Also, Evernote for BlackBerry is only available for OS 4.6+ only.

In response to this, Evernote has offered the download as an OTA link so if you don’t have App World, you can grab it here.

* BlackBerry OS 4.6 and later OTA: http://s.evernote.com/bbota
* BlackBerry Storm OTA: http://s.evernote.com/stormota

Please note that you can choose whether to download the app to your computer (ZIP) or to perform OTA (over-the-air) installation which requires that you visit the page specified from your BlackBerry’s web browser.

    Any word on when they’ll have ready for 83xx devices? Seems like a must have program

    I’m getting all sorts of error messages on my Bold using this. Anybody else experiencing problems?

    The application works better using the Opera client. Search on the Blackberry version is incredibly slow and there didn’t seem to be a way to browse the notes as you can when using Opera Mini as a client. I should point out that the Blackberry native browser also did not seem to render the site well.

    I can’t imagine why the number one selling phone (Blackberry Curve — http://gadgetwise.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/05/04/blackberry-throws-iphone-sales-a-curve/) isn’t listed as a device that this is compatible with? I use Evernote on all my laptops, from the web and from my Ipod Touch - the only way I can get to this on the BlackBerry is from the browser

    It works, but the dedicated client would obviously be better

    It’s nice to see that the app is out there; looks like those of us with OS 4.5 will have to wait until there is either an OS upgrade or Evernote to create a client that’s compatible…
